Markell signs bill to better protect children

New procedures to protect children from abuse will become law in Delaware.

Governor Markell will sign House Substitute 1 for House Bill 371 in Dover this afternoon.  The measure is designed to better track abuse cases from first report through investigation and final court ruling.  It also reinforces the requirement to report suspected perpetrators to Delaware regulatory agencies.  Members of the Governor’s Steering Committee on the Protection of Children will be on hand for today’s signing ceremony.
