Van Gogh Appreciation Day

Friday, March 30, 11:30am. Philadelphia Museum of Art, Great Stair Hall, 2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway. March 30 was Vincent van Gogh’s birthday, and the Art Museum will host a special birthday party for him on Friday in conjunction with their Van Gogh Up Close exhibition. Van Gogh + three-tier cake from Stephen Starr events in a sunflower yellow palette = excellent lunch. Exhibition tickets are $25, $23 for seniors, $20 for teens, $12 for kids 5-12, and free for those under 4.

Sakura Pavilion Grand Opening

Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1; 11am-5pm daily. Fairmount Park, Horticultural and Landsdowne Drives. Fairmount Park’s Sakura Pavilion at Shofuso has been restored and will open for this year’s cherry blossom festival. The Sakura Pavilion’s opening weekend will begin with the breaking of a sake cask, and feature taiko drumming, kamishibai storytelling, and a photography exhibition. Free.

Philly Farm & Food Fest

Sunday, April 1, 11am-4pm. Pennsylvania Convention Center Annex, Hall G, Broad and Race streets. Fair Food Philly and the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture are hosting the first Philly Farm and Food Fest: a day full of conversation and events about our regional food system plus a smorgasbord of local food samples. Tickets run $10-$35 and may be purchased online. Advance ticket sales end Friday, March 30th. Kids under 12 are free.
