Many still without electricity in N.J., Pa.

More than one million homes and businesses are still without electricity across New Jersey. Though crews have restored power to more than 1.5 million customers state-wide.

In Pennsylvania, PECO reports about 50,000 customers await their power to be returned, as of Saturday afternoon. With the help of out-if-state support crews, PECO has already returned service to 327,000 customers – about 87 percent of those affected by the storm.

About 30,000 of those currently without power in Pennsylvania are in Bucks County, with another 15,000 in Montgomery County. The remainder are scattered in Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia counties.

According to the Associated Press, the 607,000 New Jersey customers serviced by Public Service Electric & Gas could be in the dark until sometime next week before service is restored. Jersey Central Power & Light has 525,779 homes and businesses without electricity, and Atlantic City Electric is working to reconnect 10,994 customers.
