Man in critical condition after house fire in Germantown

    A man was critically injured this morning after a fire ripped through a home in Philadelphia’s Germantown section overnight.

    WPVI-TV reports the fire sparked in a home on the 5500 block of Baynton Street just before 2:30 a.m. this morning.

    Black smoke could be seen coming from the home’s second floor.

    WPVI-TV says a man in his 50s was rescued from the home. He suffered burns and respiratory arrest and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
