Malvern Prep swim coach admits trying to seduce student

A former swim coach and counselor at Malvern Preparatory School has admitted trying to seduce a 16-year-old student despite his repeated pleas to stop.

Under terms of a plea agreement, a judge on Monday sentenced 41-year-old Emily Feeney of Wayne to five years’ probation and ordered her to register for 15 years as a sex offender under Megan’s Law.

Authorities say Feeney kissed the swimmer in her office and sent him text messages, emails and photos that were sexual in nature.

Feeney apologized and said her behavior “was a huge mistake and unlawful.”

Her lawyer said the case “involved a single kiss.” But the judge said there was “no such thing as an innocent kiss.”
