Major stars visit Delaware to remember Butch Lewis

Dozens of A-list celebs are expected to be in Wilmington this morning to pay their respects to boxing promoter Butch Lewis.

Lewis died at his home in Bethany Beach last Saturday.  Today, he’ll be remembered in services at the Chase Center on the Wilmington Riverfront.  Rev. Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy.  Sharpton posted a message on Twitter earlier today that he was at the Hotel DuPont with Denzel Washington and others talking about Lewis.

Lewis is perhaps best known for promoting the 1988 Michael Spinks-Mike Tyson fight. That bout ended with a first-round knockout of Spinks, who earned more than $13 million for the fight.   Lewis began his career in boxing in the 1970s, but later branched into music and entertainment.
