The ghosts and goblins should remain dry this evening, but rain and breezy conditions ahead of a cold front will move into the region late tonight, lasting through Friday.

Quick showers moved through portions of North Jersey this morning and early afternoon. While additional precipitation is expected to hold off until late tonight, very isolated showers cannot be ruled for prime trick-or-treating time. Expect cloud cover and mild temperatures for the remainder of the day.

The dark and breezy conditions make for perfect witch flying weather.

The National Weather Service advises of the possibility of “locally heavy downpours” and “increasingly gusty southwest winds” late tonight into Friday, according to a Hazardous Weather Outlook. It will remain mild through tomorrow, with temperatures around 70 degrees.

The cold front will pass through the area Friday, allowing drier air to build in for the weekend. For Saturday, under a mixture of sun and clouds, it will be cooler with temperatures in the low 60s. Temperatures will drop back to the 50s on Sunday, under mostly sunny skies. With a breeze, it will feel even cooler.
