Lynn’s lawyers file bail request with appeals court

Having been denied bail by Common Pleas Court Judge M. Teresa Sarmina, Monsignor William Lynn is now taking his request to Pennsylvania’s Superior Court.

The monsignor was sentenced to jail earlier this summer on child endangerment charges stemming from a 2011 grand jury report accusing three Philadelphia priests and a teacher of child sexual abuse. Lynn was charged with helping to cover up the alleged abuse.

The Inquirer reports Lynn’s attorney are out to prove Lynn is not a public danger or a flight risk, and should therefore be granted bail.
