Lower Merion Township will make off-leash parks permanent

Thanks to some well-behaved dogs and mostly cooperative owners, Lower Merion Township has agreed to make permanent its pilot off-leash dog parks. Things will be official later this month.

West Mill Creek Park in Penn Valley and Rolling Hill Park in Gladwyne will continue to be places where dogs can roam freely, and now for longer periods of time, as the Main Line Times reports.

Both parks will extend their hours, which were fairly limited during the trial period. Lower Merion Township and Narberth Borough residents can apply for the $25 and $30 permits, which will now be easier to obtain and won’t require bordetella vaccines. Other parks will be open for on-leash dogs, as well.
