Lower Merion teacher fired for dating student

Lower Merion High School teacher Robert Schanne has been fired. The school district voted last night to terminate Schanne based on accusations of a relationship he had with a student five years ago.
Schanne was suspended in December when the now-former student admitted the two dated while she attended the school. As the Main Line Times reports, the physics teacher was terminated after a vote at last night’s school board meeting.
