Lower Merion delays decision about university fields

We called it. Last night’s meeting of Lower Merion Township board members ran four hours. Not a record; just a repeat of the previous meeting. The outcome of the issue of field upgrades to St. Joe’s University’s Maguire Campus? Decision delayed.

Plans to include sound barriers on the fields weren’t enough for neighbors, who had a few top concerns on the list of almost 100 approval conditions.

Parking and stormwater management remain key issues, but as the Main Line Times details, everyone is far more concerned about whether and how much the university’s plans should comply with township zoning ordinances.

The board will have a special Building and Planning Committee before its regularly scheduled meeting before granting approval.
