‘Love Lights’ to light up McMichael Park on Valentine’s night

Christmas may be over, but the season of tree lighting isn’t.

This Valentine’s night, the Friends of McMichael Park are lighting up a tree in the East Falls park with red heart-shaped lights. Each light will honor someone special — past or present — in their lives. Loved ones, the deceased, pets, and places can all be represented on the glowing tree.

“It is quite a site,” said the organization’s coordinator, Alexis Franklin.

The fundraiser, which was first organized in 1999, raised $710 this year from $5 donations. The money raised will go toward maintaining the park, including bench painting, spring cleanup, and landscaping.

The list of names will be published in the February issue of the local newspaper, The Fallser

To make a submission, contact Alexis through email or by phone at 215-849-0829.
