Lorenzo’s owner escaped ‘complete, black darkness’ in pizza shop fire

    Black smoke pouring from a popular South Street pizza shop sent fire crews rushing to the scene this morning.

    Lorenzo’s, at Third and South streets, caught fire around 10:30 Wednesday morning, necessitating the quick escape of owner Giuseppe Pulizzi, his employees and his dog. Pulizzi described the scene inside to NBC10 as “complete, dark blackness.”

     

    The exact cause of the blaze hasn’t been determined. and the shop – now missing part of its facade mural – remains closed.
