Long gone: Trump’s name erased from Atlantic City hotel
The first order of business for the new owners of a hotel in Atlantic City was to remove thousands of “Trump” references.
The Associated Press reports the new owners of the Trump Marina Hotel Casino wanted to remove all of the remaining references to Donald Trump. The goal now is for the owners to develop their own brand in the hotel now known as the Golden Nugget Atlantic City.
According to the report, Houston based Landry’s Restaurants purchased the casino-hotel for $38 million, which was about a tenth of what former Trump Entertainment Resorts owners got for it in a sale that fell through two years ago.
The AP says the new owner started with a $150 million renovation and re-branding in order to establish the Golden Nugget’s identity in Atlantic City.
