Local filmmaker surpasses pledge goal before today’s deadline
Eugene Martin had until 2:49 p.m. today to raise $25,000. The local filmmaker was using a fundraising website to ask for donations to help complete his latest project.
He beat the deadline and made $27,000.
He’ll now get to work editing his film about the Anderson Monarchs, an all-girls African-American competitive soccer team from South Philly.
The film will follow the team’s coach, five players and their families. KYW reports the project received $9,000 in three days, earning a total of $27,319.
