Lawyer in hunter’s shooting death facing theft charges

The Montgomery County lawyer awaiting trial in the shooting death of a Bucks County hunter has more trouble. He has to go to court in Berks County in connection with retail theft charges, reports the Pottstown Mercury.

David Manilla, 49, of Worcester had been in a probationary program following theft charges lodged in September 2009. He was accused of trying to lift flashlights, a cookbook, candy bars, fishing lures, DVDs and a men’s shirt and pants from a hunting supply store near Reading.

Because of his arrest in the hunter’s death on Nov. 29, a judge has revoked Manilla’s place in the county’s Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program.
