    With the exception of those UDel kids and their extended winter break, area colleges are back in session. Here’s a roundup of the beginning-of-the-year news around campus.
    Temple’s Office of Sustainability is continuing the mission it began in 2008. The agency, which has similar initiatives to Philadelphia Greenworks 2015 plan, has already had 3,00 students sign its Sustainability Pledge to help reduce the university’s greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2030.

    New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will give the Baccalaureate address to Princeton’s Class of 2011. Bloomberg’s daughter, Emma, is a 2001 graduate, and the family made an undisclosed donation for the construction of the Bloomberg Hall dormitory.

    Fraternities at the University of Pennsylvania will take part in an LGBT sensitivity program. The program is designed to encourage pledging by members of the LGBT community and ensure their acceptance once in the fraternities.
