Latest McNeil recall affects some Tylenol cold gelcaps

Johnson & Johnson’s McNeil has issued yet another Tylenol recall, this time for Cold Multi-Symptom Nighttime Rapid Release Gelcap distributed in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

“McNeil is initiating the recall as a precaution after determining, through monitoring of product samples, that the level of a compound contained in the product, known as Chlorpheniramine Ammonio Acetate (CPAA), was slightly higher than expected in some [of the product],” reads the company’s recall statement.

The recall is not at the consumer level, and the company said no adverse health effects are expected. “No action is required by consumers or healthcare providers and consumers can continue to use the product.”
