Killed dog left on woman’s porch

A family with a lost dog and a woman in Somerton are both shocked after a dead dog was discovered yesterday on a porch in Somerton.

Chico, a 3-year-old Husky , went missing Saturday from his home on Haldeman Avenue in. He was discovered Monday by Sherri Verdon, a Somerton resident who found the dog’s severed remains on her porch.

Verdon told Action News she believes a neighbor, who’s been harassing her and vandalizing her home on the 200-block of Byberry Road, is responsible for the crime. The SPCA removed the dog, who was still wearing his tag, from Verden’s porch and notified his family. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
