Kane elected Pa. attorney general

Kathleen Kane is the first Democrat and the first woman to be elected Pennsylvania attorney general. She says breaking the gender barrier is good for all the women of the state.

“It is 2012, and to all of my nieces standing behind me and all of you out here, I will tell you that we have expanded the boundaries for women in Pennsylvania.”

Kane says she wants to go to work fighting for all the people of the state.

“We want to make sure all children are protected in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” she said. “We want to make sure that your mothers and fathers are safe in their neighborhood and cleaned up from ravishing drugs and gangs.”

Kane, who defeated Republican David Freed, says she also wants to send a message that she will clean up Harrisburg.
