Jury selections underway for couple who left son at robbery scene

The trial is expected to begin tomorrow for the couple accused of leaving their son at the scene after robbing a South Street jewelry store last February.

John Benson and Sheakia Stubbs allegedly used their 4-year-old as a decoy when they went into the store under the guise of shopping for engagement rings. The couple is accused of taking off with a tray of rings, and Benson is charged with slashing the store owner during a chase.

Their son now lives with another family member. KYW reports jury selections are underway and opening statements are set to begin tomorrow.
