Jury issues three guilty verdicts in Danieal Kelly case
Two days after taking the stand in his own defense, Daniel Kelly has been found guilty for his role in the 2006 death of his daughter Danieal Kelly. A jury found the 40-year-old guilty of endangering the welfare of a child after 14-year-old Danieal died in the care of her mother, despite Daniel Kelly’s reported knowledge of his daughter being neglected.
Also found guilty were Dana Poindexter and Mickal Kamuvaka. Poindexter, a former DHS social worker, was found guilty of endangering the welfare of a child, reckless Eendangerment and perjury. Kamuvaka was the chief administrator for the firm DHS hired to monitor Danieal Kelly’s health, and is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, perjury, forgery, reckless endangerment and conspiracy.
All three are scheduled for a Sept. 6 sentencing hearing.
