Is New Jersey’s attorney general stepping down to pursue a judgeship?

Rumors are circulating in New Jersey that Attorney General Paula Dow is thinking of stepping down to possibly pursue a judgeship she’s long expressed interest in.

NJ.com cites two anonymous sources who say Dow has plans to step down by the end of the year, though Christie’s office has not commented on whether the governor will nominate Dow for a judgeship.

Dow is the first African American woman to serve as state attorney general, and was the first cabinet officer Christie nominated after his election.
