Investigators call North Wildwood fire ‘suspicious’

    Investigators are calling a fire that sparked this morning at the Sportland Pier suspicious.

    The Star-Ledger reports the fire sparked around 1:30 a.m. inside a building at 2301 Boardwalk.

    Firefighters managed to get the fire under control within 15 minutes.

    At this time, investigators are now looking for a cause.

    According to The Star-Ledger, investigators have ruled out natural causes.  In an email, North Wildwood Fire Chief Jeffrey Cole said the fire was “considered suspicious” at this time, according to The Star-Ledger.
