Imhotep Panthers one step closer to state championship [photos]

West Oak Lane’s Imhotep Institute Charter Institute met Sharon Hill’s Academy Park on Friday night.

The Imhotep Panthers and Sharon Hill’s Knights played a cold but dry match on the field of Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School in Plymouth Meeting. The “mercy rule” kicked in during the fourth quarter, when a last touchdown put the Panthers in a 35-point lead. The game ended with a final score of 46-16 on the board.

The Panthers advance to the semi finals of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) State Championship Class AAA Quarter Finals.

In the December 11 semi-finals at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium, the Panthers will face Saucon Valley for a place in the December 18 state finals in Hersey Park.
