Imhotep falls short on road to state basketball championship

The Imhotep Panthers and Neumann-Goretti Saints met on Tuesday night to determine who will head to the state finals on Thursday.

The teams representing the city’s public and Catholic leagues met at the Herb Magee Court at the East Falls campus of Philadelphia University.

The Saints found many opportunities to gain a nine-point lead over the Panthers in the early moments of the game. The Panthers came back and even managed to tie in the fourth.

Imhotep eventually fell short after a 12-point comeback.  The final score of 69-76 sending the Saints over the Panthers to Hershey.
