Linda Baker, writing for Scientific American, indicates that one way to boost urban bicycling is to figure out what women want when it comes to cycling.  Baker reports that in the U.S. men’s cycling trips surpass women’s by at least 2:1. The article indicates that addressing women’s concerns about safety and utility will help increase the overall number of people bicycling in urban areas.
