Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to get $102 million extension

The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman Center extension should be complete by 2014.

Plans approved by the board of trustees Nov. 4 call for a $102 million extension to the aging facility. Once complete, HUP will have more space for ambulatory service, diagnostic space, patient care and research, the Daily Pennsylvanian reports.

Construction will begin in winter 2012 and will lead into the next step: a replacement parking garage.
