The 46-year-old pastor, who calls himself “Jerry from Philly,” is shown in the posts sans collar, wearing a tuxedo or sweater. He promises recruits they can get rich selling candles, life coaching or other services. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia bans priests from most secular work.
Pinero leads the multicultural Incarnation of Our Lord parish. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents say the criminal probe doesn’t concern anyone’s immigration status, but won’t say more.
