High school performers use theater to address, move on from tragic shooting

You’ve seen Mariana Bracetti Academy Charter School in the headlines before.

It’s the Kensington school where three of the teenagers involved in a fatal shooting last week attend. Three teenagers died and one was seriously wounded last week when the step-father of two of the teens involved in an ongoing dispute opened fire at a home in Juniata.
But as City Paper reports, a group of Bracetti students is making headlines for something else. Their performance at the Walking Fish Theater addresses typical teenage issues, plus the violence that hit home for them last week. Community members were invited to an afternoon performance yesterday to watch as the students healed on stage.
