Heavy Hitta’s boxers proudly show off hard-earned trophies

It was a celebration at last night’s Lawncrest Community Association meeting. Heavy Hitta’s founders Rick Terrell and Lonnie Haile brought in a proud group of boxers to announce their latest accomplishments.

Four of the group’s fighters registered to fight in the Mid-Atlantic Boxing Tournament, a city-wide tournament held every year at Front Street. Boxing Gym. Three of those fighters brought back trophies and medals. The tournament was a precurser for the Regional Boxing Tournament, Golden Gloves and Olympic Trials.

Yvesmark Chery, 100lbs boxer, became the Mid-Atlantic “Silver” Champion. Ashwin Trail, 200lbs boxer, became Heavyweight “Super” Champion and advanced to the Regional Boxing Tournament. Emmanuel Muniz, 178lbs boxer, receieved the Silver Medal in the Finals. Danial Chery, had to pull out of the tournament at the last minute, due to flu-like symptoms, but had he competed,  Terrell said, “we are definitely sure to have received another Champion!”
