The second disabled vehicle in a week is causing a heavy traffic delay on the Tunney Bridge, which connects Toms River and Pelican Island.

The vehicle is in the eastbound lane shortly before 7:00 p.m., according to JSHN contributors.

Due to construction on the Mathis Bridge, which regularly carries Route 37 eastbound traffic, the Tunney Bridge is accommodating two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane.

511nj.org is reporting a 10 minute delay as of 7:00 p.m. Traffic is back to Fischer Boulevard, according to Google Maps.

A broken down vehicle last week on the one eastbound lane caused a major delay.

Repairs on the Mathis Bridge will continue through 2018, although the bridge will be open to accommodate traffic during the warmer months.
