Haverford College names interim president

    Haverford College — recently named to Forbes’ Best Colleges list — has appointed an interim president as former President Steve Emerson returns to teaching.

    Joanne V. Creighton will assume full-time presidential duties Aug. 24, and remain in the position until the role is filled permanently. Creighton spent 14 years as president of Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, and also served as interim president at Wesleyan University int he mid-’90s.

    She’ll be the college’s first woman president.
