Hall of famers

    Eight local athletes were inducted Monday night into Salem County’s Sports Hall of Fame. Now up to 73 members, the hall of fame honors athletes with local ties.

     

    Inducted were:

    Anthony Matarese Jr. ranked second in the world as a clay shooter
    Katie Kline, youngest inductee at 24, honored for her work in basketball
    Paul Gause, currently playing International Basketball in Germany
    Bob Patterson and Harry Martell, honored for their success in football
    Glenn Merkle, director of athletics at Woodstown-Pilesgrove Regional School
    David Whitzell, Salem High School football coach with 117-43-11 record
    Scott Griscom, Pennsville Memorial High School wrestling coach with a 213-63-2 record
