Gunfire claims 2 lives, injuries others in multiple incidents over Christmas holiday

Authorities say gunfire claimed the lives of two men and sent others to the hospital around Christmas in Philadelphia.

Officers were called to a home in Kensington in northeastern Philadelphia just before 10:30 p.m. on Christmas night and found a 43-year-old man with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he died.

Police say several men kicked out of a bar in the Nicetown-Tioga section of north Philadelphia returned and opened fire shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, wounding two men, one critically.
