Groundbreaking ceremony for Hunting Park Football Field [photos]

Only 100 football players and cheerleaders could outnumber the city officials and Eagles leadership that stood on Hunting Park Avenue in the heat and lightning this afternoon to break ground on the neighborhood’s new football field at 900 W. Hunting Park Ave.

The North Philly Aztec Athletes were there to see the beginnings of their field, which is the first phase of the Hunting Park Revialization Project.

Eagles player Michael Vick joined the crowd to announce a $200,000 donation to the field project from his foundation. In return, the Atzecs presented him with a customized jersey.
