Granite Run Mall to house a dinosaur museum

Here’s a new and strange way to kill two birds with one stone: put a museum in a mall.

The coming soon signs in the Granite Run Mall won’t be advertising a book store or a pretzel place. Instead, shoppers can soon visit a museum while picking up some accessories and sipping on an oversized beverage.

Soon the mall will have a Dinosaur-ium. With the help of a partner who happens to own the largest private collection of dinosaur fossils, the mall plans to open a dinosaur museum that will be cheaper than Philadelphia’s equivalents, as the Delaware County Times reports.

The exhibit is expected to draw 100,000 visitors in the first year, which the mall hopes will translate into more visits to its stores. Commenters on the story don’t seem too optimistic.
