Grace takes aim at DROP money with anti-DiCicco website

Tom MacDonald sends us the following from City Council candidate Joe Grace, who’s running against Frank DiCicco and has a major bone to pick with the incumbent.

“Council Candidate Joe Grace, who is running against Frank DiCicco in the First District, has set up a website to talk about the incumbent taking over 424 thousand dollars in early retirement money and running for re-election.

Grace says the website has everything from the practical: keeping pools and putting more police on the street, to the frivolous:  buying over 65 thousand buckets of crab fries.

Grace says the bigger point is that the DROP payment is for a promise to retire and even though DiCicco says he would donate his salary back if re-elected the promise is one that is not kept.”

Note: an earlier version of this story reported DiCicco’s DROP funds totaled $450,000. Tom MacDonald reports Grace’s camp has updated that number to $424,000.
