A barking dog alerted a Lacey family to a burglar’s presence over the weekend, authorities said.

Police say the family was asleep in their Lakeside Drive South home in the township’s Forked River section when their dog began around 4:45 a.m. Saturday.

When a woman got out of bed, she saw that the garage door was open and various items missing, including an Xbox, Samsung Galaxy S8 cell phone, BMX bicycle, longboard, and a laptop, police said.

An investigation led to the arrest of Frank Marin, 20, of Kearny Avenue in Seaside Heights, according to police.
