Gloucester Township increases DWI patrols during Bowl weekend
Gloucester Township this morning stepped up its DWI patrols and the effort will last through Monday morning.
Police are preparing for the effects of today’s Wing Bowl and Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund will finance the patrols, the Gloucester County Times reports, as police look out for drivers who appear intoxicated.
Forty percent of Super Bowl Sunday vehicle crash fatalities in 2010 were connected to drunk driving, according to the National Highway Transportation Administration.
