‘Get Your Rear in Gear’ run for colon cancer at the Art Museum

More than 3,500 people are already registered to participate in Philadelphia’s fourth annual ‘Get Your Rear in Gear’ event to help fight colon cancer.

The annual Get Your Rear in Gear run / walk, presented by Stop Colon Cancer Now, organizes 5K and 10K runs, a 2-mile walk and a special kids run. Registrations begin at 7 a.m. and all funds raised stay in the Philadelphia Region for research, education and patient care.

Each year, this event helps to empower local communities by promoting prevention and early detection of colon cancer and to providing support to those affected.

There will be an ‘Ask the Doctor Tent’ staffed by Stop Colon Cancer Now, where experts will answer questions about digestive health, colon cancer risk factors. Visitors will have a chance to schedule a screening. The American Cancer Society will also be on-site, hosting a Survivorship and Education Tent.
