Germantown’s Center in the Park seeking service-to-the-elderly award nominations

The Center in the Park (CIP) is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Marguerite L. Riegel Awards.

The award was initiated in 1986 in honor of one of the founders. It recognizes individuals and organizations that provide services to the elderly community.

Nominations can be made for any individual who has a record of continuous service to the elderly community by “affirming dignity and potential and fostering respect, independence and personal growth for aging population.” The individual should also have creatively uncovered solutions to the population’s problems.

Organizations can also be nominated for the award by supporting issues that have a positive impact on the quality-of-life for older adults, providing a valuable service and demonstrating the ability to adapt to the changing needs of an aging population.
