Germantown High football wins first playoff game in six years

By defeating the Lincoln High School Rail Splitters 32-27 in a Friday night public-league playoff game, the Germantown High Bears are just two wins away from a city title.

“If we play our best game, we can beat anybody,” said Will Parks, Germantown’s standout cornerback who scored a 59-yard touchdown as a wide receiver against Lincoln.

Germantown will face George Washington High on Saturday night in the public league semifinals. The teams faced off earlier in the season. Parks recounted how the Bears had an early lead on GW, only to see the No. 1 seed in the playoffs prevail 41-34.
