Gas prices down 8 cents in New Jersey

Perhaps some good news for drivers, at least if you’re traveling through New Jersey, as the Associated Press reports prices at the pumps have dropped significantly over the last week.

The Associated Press sites AAA Mid-Atlantic numbers, which show the price of regular gas in New Jersey listed at $3.58 Friday, down 8 cents from the last week.

The price puts everything into perspective, however, when you consider what the cost of gas was last year at this time.

According AAA, motorists were paying just $2.61 per gallon.

The AP reports the main reason for the drop in gas prices is due to concerns over the national and global economies.
