From breakdancing to Petapalooza: 5 family events this weekend

    Here’s a look at what’s going on this weekend. 

     

    Breakdance Workshop at Merge Dance StudioMay 30 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.Children, teens and adults are invited to a breakdance workshop. Participants will learn foundation of breakdancing by understanding four parts of breakdancing – top rock, footwork, freezes, and power moves.

    Final-ly Friday in Mt. AiryMay 30 at 6 p.m.A fabulous street fair that happens on the last Friday of the month on the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue in Mt. Airy. This month’s feature artist is Miles Thompson who blends elements of folk, country, blues and rock. There are dinner specials, visiting vendors along the Avenue and other activities. Walk a Crooked Mile Books (7423 Devon St) features singer and guitarist Sharon Abbot.

    Free family concert at the KimmelMay 31 at 11 a.m.A free family performance featuring singer and songwriter Louie Miranda and his band from New York City. This is a highly interactive bilingual experience where dancing and singing are strongly encouraged.

    Bike Race Block Party in East Falls June 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Head to the East Falls Bike Race Party for a view of the Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic and a day of music, food, kids activities and dance with neighbors.
