Four shot during Sunday night basketball game at Kemble Park

Details are just starting to emerge about a 7:23 p.m. incident at Kemble Park in which three men and a woman were shot during a basketball game near Ogontz and Olney avenues.

Officer Christine O’Brien, a department spokeswoman, said the shooting occured on the “basketball court during a game.”

The victims were all listed in stable condition at nearby Albert Einstein Medical Center less than an hour after police received the call. Three of them, including the woman, were listed as being 20 years old, while police did not have the age of the third male victim immediately.

The woman was shot in the left thigh. Two male victims were shot in the right shin while the third suffered a graze wound to the left ankle.

Witnesses reported that two suspects fled northbound on North 16th Street in Olney. No arrests have been made.
