Foundation drops lease for Bellmawr medical marijuana facility

The delay in implementing New Jersey’s medical marijuana program has prompted Compassionate Care Foundation Inc. to drop a tentative lease it had on a Bellmawr property.

It and another nonprofit are looking at other spaces in Camden and Burlington Counties to grow and distribute the product Gov. Chris Christie recently said he’d allow.

The Courier Post reports Compassionate Care could be selling as early as December if it finds a location in the coming weeks. Fifteen other states and Washington, D.C. have approved medical marijuana.
