Foster eliminated from 8th District Council race

Update: Brian Rudnick has lived to tell the tale of his petition challenge. He’ll remain on the ballot as the Green Party candidate.

Original report: Jim Foster won’t appear on the 8th District Council ballot this fall after a judge determined this morning too many of his petition signatures are invalid.

With that ruling, Foster fell short of the 750 signatures he needs to make the ballot. A challenge to Green Party opponent Brian Rudnick will also be heard today.

In the last week, Rudnick and Foster filed their petitions, collected their signatures and challenged each other, with Democratic candidate Cindy Bass filing against Foster, too.
