Former Temple player becomes first female Harlem Globetrotter in 19 years

It’s been 19 years since the Harlem Globetrotters welcomed a female player, and the addition of Fatima “TNT” Maddox is still pretty rare. The Temple grad is only the ninth woman ever to play for the team.

Maddox will make her Philadelphia debut in a five-game series next month. She graduated from Temple in 2007 after playing for women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley.
She’ll play alongside fellow rookie Paul “Tiny” Sturgess who stands 7’8″ and wears a size 20 shoe.

The team comes to town March 9.
