Former student sues archdiocese for abuse cover-up

More details are emerging about further allegations against the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. A former student is suing the diocese alleging it covered up the abuse against him in the ’90s.

Filed today, the lawsuit says a seminarian and a priest at schools in Villanova and Malvern assaulted the boy while he was a student at each, the Associated Press reports.

Cardinal Justin Rigali and former Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua are also named in the suit for failing to protect the student from the abuse.
